10-Day for Vietnam Wildlife tour with Endemic Primate and Birds Photography

Itinerary

This is the longest journey, 24 days, a long journey for bird watching, wildlife, and especially primates in Vietnam.

This journey will bring more than 300 species of birds to be seen, with more than 200 species you will have beautiful images recorded, as well as more than 12 species of Vietnamese endemic primates, including the famous Red-Shanked Douc.

The journey will start from Ho Chi Minh City and end in Hanoi. This is a journey throughout Vietnam and does not use domestic flights. If your time is limited, you can consider cutting out one For some itineraries, you will have to use a local flight. We will advise you on the airport and flight route suitable for the tour schedule.

An overview schedule is listed below.

Day 1: HCM city – Cangio mangrove forest

• Birds: Shorebirds in migratory and native birds, about 40 species.
• Mammal: Monkey Island for macaques
• Transport to Dong Nai NR

Day 2: Dong Nai Nature Reserve

• Birds: Pittas, Broadbills, Magpie, Babblers, Woodpeckers… good pictures in the hide.
• Transport to Cat Tien NP

Day 3: Cat tien NP

• Mammals: Yellow-cheeked Gibbon.
• Birds: Germain’s peacock pheasant, Siamese fireback, partridge…
• Night spotlight: Pygmy loris, palm civet, Giant flying squirrel …

Day 4: Cat tien NP

• Mammals: Black-shanked Douc, Annamese silver langur.
• Birds: Pitta, trogon, and other native birds like Iora, Oriole, leafbird, Sunbirds…
• Night spotlight: Pygmy loris, palm civet, Giant flying squirrel …

Day 5: Cat tien NP – Dilinh plateau forest.

• Mammals: Sambar deer, Red muntjak, …
• Birds: green peafowl, barbets, Green pigeon.
• Transport to Dilinh town.

Day 6: Dilinh forest

• Birds: blue pitta, bar-backed partridge, Indochinese green magpie,
• Other birds: black-headed parrotbill, long-tailed broadbill…
• Transport to Dalat City
• Dalat City night market.

Day 7: Dalat city – Bidoup Nui Ba NP

• Morning first spot for endemic Birds is grey-crowned Crocias, Dalat shrike babbler…
• The second Bird spot: Vietnamese greenfinch, Langbian Tit, Indochinese barbet, Annam sunbird, Langbian Sunbird…
• Afternoon: transport to Bidoup Nuiba NP
• Birds in Bidoup Nuiba NP center: Red crossbill, Annam minivet, Slender-billed Oriole, Vinous breasted Myna, ….

Day 8: Bidoup Nui Ba NP

• Morning for Bird in hide: Collared laughing thrush, Black-hooded laughing thrush, White-cheeked laughing thrush, Black-crowned fulvetta, Grey-bellied Tesia, Pygmy Wren-babbler, Indochinese green magpie, Black-headed Sibia, Slaty-backed Forktail…
• Birds in trails : Necklaced barbet, Mountain Imperial Pigeon, Plumbeous water redstar,

Day 9: Dalat city flight to Danang city.

• Birds: Vietnamese cutia, Dalat bush-warbler…
• Take a flight from Dalat City to Danang City in the afternoon.

Day 10: Danang city

• Morning visit to Son Tra peninsular for Red-shanked Douc.
• Birding around the peninsular for native birds.
• End the trip in the afternoon.

Day 1: Can Gio mangrove forest

• 5:00 am pick-up from Hochiminh City. Breakfast and coffee at the restaurant on the way.
• 7:00 -11:00 am Birding in the mangrove forest and salt farms

• 14:00 – 16:00 Monkey island for macaque – longtaied macaque and pig-tailed macaque/
• 16:00 – 19:00 pm: transport to Dong Nai Nature reserve.

Day 2: Dong Nai Nature Reserve

• 7:00 am arrive to the first hide in Dong Nai NR for Bar-bellied Pitta, Blue-rumped Pitta, Broadbills, Babbler, Racket-tailed treepie…
• 11:00 am lunch and rest to 12:30 pm.
• 1:30 pm to 4:30 pm: the second hide for Indochinese green magpie, woodpeckers, Indochinese babbler, Silver breasted broadbill, Black and red broadbill…
• 4:00 pm start to Cat Tien National Park

Day 3: Cat tien NP

• Early morning visit to the hide for Germain’s peacock pheasant, Green-legged partridge…
• 9 am: visit the place can take a photo of Yellow-cheeked Gibbon.
• Night: spotlight for Pygmy loris.

Day 4: Cat Tien National Park

• Morning uses the safari car then Crocodile hiking for Black-shanked Douc, Annamese silver langur, banded broadbill …
• Afternoon: walk in trails for Orange-breasted Trogon, Banded broadbill, leafbirds…
• Night safari: Civets, Flying Squirrel, Pygmy loris…

Day 5: Cat Tien National Park – Dilinh forest

• Morning grassland for Sambar deer, Red muntjak, Green peafowls…
• Bird photography along the trails: Lesser yellow nape, Black-hooded Oriole, Violet cuckoo, Square-tailed Drongo-cuckoo; Drongo, Racket-tailed Treepie…
• 11:00 am: Check out then lunchtime on the way to Dilinh town
• 2:00 pm: bird photography in the hide in Dilinh forest

Day 6: forest in Dilinh – Dalat city

• Morning visits other hide for Blue pitta, Bar-backed Partridge, Indochinese green magpie… Black-chinned Yuhina, Black-headed parrotbill, long-tailed Broadbill…

• Trails: Vietnamese cutie, Red-vented barbet
• 4:00 pm Transportation to Dalat city.
• Accommodation: Dalat City Hotel.

Day 7: Bidoup Nui Ba National Park

• Early morning birding around spots in Dalat city for Grey-crowned Crocias, Vietnamese greenfinch, Langbian tit, Chestnut-vented Nuthatch, …

• Move to the Bidoup Nuiba NP, for Red Crossbill, Slender-billed Oriole, Vinous breasted Myna…
• Accommodation: Hotel in Bidoup NuiBa NP

Day 8: Bidoup Nui Ba National Park – Dalat City

• Targets: Collared laughing thrush, black-hooded laughing thrush, black-crowned fulvetta, pygmy wren babbler, grey-bellied tesia, chestnut-crowned warbler, spotted forktail, Slaty-backed forktail…
• Visit other bird-hides for Rusty-naped Pitta, Black-headed Sibia, White-tailed Robin, and Rufous-throated partridge.

Day 9: Dalat city

• 5:30 am to 11:00 am visit other spots for Vietnamese cutie, Dalat bush warbler

Day 10: Da nang city
