Day 1: Hochiminh City – Can Gio mangrove forest

Targets: Long-tailed Macaque, Pig-tailed Macaque, Irrawaddy dolphin.

Pick you up at the hotel in Hochiminh City at 5:30 am, transport to Can Gio mangrove forest, arrive at the boat station at 8:00 am, use the boat to visit the mangrove forest in Can Gio, then watch Irrawaddy Dolphin, the rarest dolphin in the world.

11:30 am visit to Monkey Island, watch and photograph 2 kinds of macaque in Vietnam: long-tailed and Pig-tailed.

1:00 pm lunch in Can Gio.

2:00 pm move to Cat Tien NP, arrive at Cat Tien at 7:00 pm.

Accommodation: Cat Tien NP

Day 2: Cat Tien National park

Early morning for Black-shanked Douc langur, then go to to Crocodile Lake, on the way to see Black-shanked Douc and Annam Silver Langur.

10:00 am will use the boat to see Siamese Crocodile in the lake

2:00 pm Back way to the park (6km in walking and 9km more in safari car)

Nighttime will spotlight Pygmy loris and some kind of mammals around the park trails.

Accommodation: same as the first night.

Day 3: Cat Tien National Park back to Hochiminh City, then flight to Danang City

Afternoon: Wildlife trails in Cat Tien NP and then waiting for Gaurs at Grassland Tower.

Nighttime will spotlight Pygmy loris and some kind of mammals around the park trails.

Accommodation: same as the first night.

Day 4: Cat Tien National Park back to Hochiminh City, then flight to Danang City

Early morning for Red muntjak, Sambar deer and spent time again for Black shanked Douc (back up for the case we can not see it in the previous day).

Check out at 10:00 am, back to HCM city, and take a flight to Danang city at 2:00 pm.

Arrive at Son Tra peninsular, Danang city at 4:30 pm for the first meet with Red-shanked Douc.

Day 5: Danang City

Morning visit to Son Tra peninsular for Red-shanked Douc, the Rhesus macaque.

Afternoon : Transport to Phong Nha Ke Bang National park.

Day 6: Phong Nha Ke Bang NP

Morning to seeking White-cheeked Gibbon, one of hardest primates to see in Vietnam, move change to see Red-shanked Douc in the field.

Afternoon visit to Paradise Cave or Phong Nha Cave, both exciting beautiful landscapes.

Accommodation in Phong Nha Ke Bang NP.

Day 7:

Moring transport to a special spot in Tuyen Hoa, Quang Binh for Hatinh langur, one of the best places to watch and photograph.

 

Lunch with nice traditional cooking at the farmer’s village;

Transport to domestic Dong Hoi airport ( for a flight to Hochiminh city or Hanoi city); or take back to Danang city (5 hours) with the international airport.

Note: The itinerary will be flexible to your time and your previous trip in Vietnam, but all targets will be in your budgets.
