Where is Bach Ma National Park?
Bach Ma National Park is located around 40 km south of Hue, which is a popular cultural and tourist destination, in central Vietnam.
Bach Ma National Park was probably the first National Park established in the Indochina Federation, during the French colonial period. Although not an official national park at that time, the colonial government established Bach Ma NR to protect Edward Pheasant, a beautiful bird species found only in the Annammite range. Simultaneously, Bach Ma was a famous resort from the 1930s, until 1948, there were 139 resort villas for French government officials in Indochina built in Bach Ma. Hot working days in Hue in the humid tropical country will not suit French officials, and only 2 hours by car from Hue capital, they have moments of comfortable relaxation at the top of the mountain.
